It was a bright sunny day. Prabha was thinking of creating some magic. Magic! Not the one which is often termed as a mystical or supernatural practice, but the one which works like a soothing balm. After non-stop efforts of one hour, she landed up in a paradise of pens. Yes, you read it right – a paradise of pens.
Her little experience says that the power of pen is enormous. She didn’t know what really works behind it, but there’s something magical about it. She has tried umpteen times to know about that undercurrent, but always returned with empty hands. Pens have been her best friends since the day she started writing alphabets. She always felt happy in their company.
Now here she is... standing among the pens in their paradise. Who said that pen is a non living thing. Here they are… dancing like a group of ten year old kids. She thought that she is flying in a dream world and trying to personify the surroundings.
Then came the real moment, one small pen came to her and said in her sweet voice, “Hello Prabha! I’m your best friend. You’ve been using me for last two years. I know that you are in a puzzled state. Tell me about your problem?”
Prabha told her that she is not able to understand the hidden magic in these tiny pens.
Understanding her problem, pen replied, “As knife is a tool to cut vegetables, as telephone is a tool to communicate, similarly pen is a tool to write about different things and ideas on a paper. Pen in itself is not magical. The real magic behind it is the brain. You must learn how to write and how to read. So, to utilize the magical powers of brain, education is required. Although brain can take care of many things at a time, but you need to provide it some help in the form of writings. Thinking is the most important function of brain, but it also requires help from books. So to keep your magical powers intact, you need to feed your brain. All your questions and answers are just brain games, so try to play them well. We, the pens, will always be there to assist you in playing these games. So my friend Prabha! Cheer up and smile now. One day we’ll create the magic”.
Prabha smiled and came back happily from the paradise of pens. A book, lying on Prabha’s table, heard this nice little talk and it started thinking about one famous saying, “Minds are like parachutes. They only function when they are open”.
